Management
Stephen Hatfield is founder and managing director of ECIS Consultants. Stephen’s career experience includes 22 years British Army service in the Royal Signals working on secure communications and information systems world-wide. Following his final military appointment as IT Security Officer for an organisation supporting diverse overseas operations he moved into the private sector in 1999. In addition to managing ECIS Stephen has also worked for Netigy and Thrupoint where he was security team leader for Thrupoint UK responsible for a team of 20+ consultants in UK/EMEA.
Stephen’s academic qualifications include a BSc and MEng from the UK Open University, an MBA from the Open University Business School, MSc from the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway, University of London and a Postgraduate Certificate in Object-Oriented Technology from the University of Oxford. He is currently writing up the dissertation for an MSc in Software Engineering at Oxford. He holds a number of security industry certifications (CISSP, CISA, CISM, SCF, SCPR, ITPC) and is an active member of several professional institutes including the British Computer Society, the Institute for Engineering and Technology and the Association of Project Managers. He is also a member of ISACA and the UK Government CESG Listed Advisor Scheme.

ECIS is an independent consultancy specialising in information assurance. ECIS was set up in 1999 by Stephen Hatfield after leaving the Royal Signals. In the past 8 years we have been active in supplying information assurance services to UK Government and commercial organisations. We have experience in delivering services to clients throughout the UK and EMEA.
